Question
I love Star wars, but didn't even know that there was a Star wars Christmas Special in the late 1970s- A friend who is a total Star wars nut told me it is 100000 worse than an army of Jar jark Binkses, and if I watch it I'll want to gouge myt eyes out- It's not taht bad, is it? I assume Lucas made it?
Answer
I remember seeing it only that one time back in December 1978. Only the actual Star Wars parts, like Chewbacca's family being acosted by stormtroopers, were any good. Harrison Ford and the real Chewbacca guest starred. Han Solo and Chewbacca showed up to save the day. Most of it, however, stunk. Even by a 10 year old's perspective. I remember Paul Lynde dressed up like a middle aged woman demonstrating a cooking dish. He had four arms (someone standing in back). My mind must be playing tricks on me. That may not have been Paul Lynde. It could've been Maude! (Bea Arthur) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ackmena
